Mattress Warranties Matter

We have all heard from consumer shows not to buy a mattress based on warranty alone but what they fail to tell you is when a manufacturer designs their products, cost of warranty replacement does matter. But like everything else, there’s a catch.

You must be a savvy consumer and read the warranty completely. Look for terms like prorated and non-prorated. Prorated warrantees are for the most part worthless, stay away from them as they are not worth the paper their printed on when you’re buying a premium, luxury or custom mattress.

Here’s the catch, non-prorated warranties are good but read the fine print. For example if your mattress has a stain on it, which easly could happen, the warranty becomes void in most cases. Ask yourself one question, why would a stain affect the way my mattress was build? This does not make sense unless the manufacturer is looking for a way out of servicing the product they built. Think about it, the devil is in the details and when you’re buying a premium, luxury or custom mattress the last thing you want in your warranty is a reason not to service your claim.

Warranties do matter! Do not let a five minute consumer news shows fool you, and by the way have you every noticed the product placement in the consumer spots on your local news? If it was truly an unbiased consumer news story then a brand name mattress label would not be shown. Read the fine print, compare apples to apples and you will be the savvy shopper. The internet has done one thing for us all, educating us on how to become a savvy shopper.
